Following continued expansion of Begg Shoes we are now recruiting for another Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper in our Inverness headquarters. Our office is responsible for the accounting of 11 retail stores and a rapidly expanding online business.
Based at Beechwood Business Park in Inverness, we currently have an office team of 7 people and now require another person to assist with the increased volume of invoicing with the upturn in business online and the opening of a new store earlier this year.
The role in the business is offers variation from a bookkeeping perspective as it is heavily purchase ledger oriented for 4 months of the year (when new shoes arrive in all our shops). Outwith our very busy delivery seasons, the role involves income processing and recognition, stock control reviews, purchase order confirmation checking and reconciliation work (bank, VAT and other control accounts). We are a cash business, therefore we have no meaningful sales ledger work to do in the business.
Where time allows, there is a significant amount of work to be done to assist with the continued growth of our web business. Examples of such tasks are resolving order queries, responding to customer enquiries and writing product descriptions for our shoes. Accounting qualifications are not essential for this position though bookkeeping experience is essential.
Remuneration is dependent on qualifications and experience but will be in the range of £17,000 – £20,000 / annum. The position is full time, Monday – Friday and is based on a 40-hour working week. We can be flexible on working hours if required though hours worked must be between core working hours of 8:30am and 6pm.
