Rieker Shoes

Rieker ShoesRieker was founded in 1874 in Southern Germany and very quickly built up a reputation for producing quality footwear. Rieker own their own production units in North Africa, Vietnam and Eastern Europe which enables them to maintain quality control over all of their products.

The key component in Rieker shoes which make them so comfortable is the Rieker Antistress technology embedded within their footwear. This particular construction allows Rieker shoes to be extremely light, absorb shock on various surfaces, allows for maximum flexibility and room for the parts of the foot which expand during all day wear. This innovative design not only makes the shoes very comfortable but also allows Rieker to make shoes which are fashionable and can be adapted each season to keep up with fashion trends. If you want footwear which is different, yet fashionable with a great level of comfort then you should try Rieker shoes.

Begg Shoes & Bags is a Rieker Stockist. So browse our online collection or pop into one of Shoe Shops to try on a pair. You'll love them on your feet!

History of Rieker Shoes

Rieker Shoes started off as a small shoe factory in the city of Tuttlingen in the Black Forest area of Southern Germany. The company was founded in 1874 by Heinrich Rieker and Carl Seitz and was originally known as Rieker & Seitz, the Seitz name was dropped from the name in 1901 when Carl Seitz left the company.

When Heinrich Rieker passed away in 1905, management of the company was taken over by his three sons Heinrich Karl and Ernst and has been in the family for 5 generations. The Rieker brand very quickly became a household name built on a reputation for style, unquestionable quality and unrivalled workmanship.

By 1969, the company had become so large that they had to be split up into three divisions to function effectively and in the 1970’s the company’s headquarters were moved to Switzerland.

Today, Rieker employs approximately 20 000 people around the world in offices, factories and warehouses. Their unique antistress footwear is sold in more than nine thousand retailers around Europe.
