Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal

Bring some happiness to someone in need this Christmas.

Begg Shoes are delighted to be supporting the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal. We will be hosting Drop Off & Collection points in our stores, making it easier for you to take part this year. We will be offering both empty shoeboxes for you to pick up, as well as collecting your filled Christmas shoeboxes, ready for Blythswood to send out in time for Christmas.

Please see the list of our participating store addresses below, to find your nearest handy collection and drop off point and we hope you can take part this year in the fantastic Blythswood Shoebox Appeal.

1. Find an average-sized shoebox (we have plenty). Decide who to fill it for; a child, a teenager, a man or a woman.

2. Wrap your box and lid separately so that the lid can be opened without tearing the paper. All boxes need to be checked before delivery.

3. Pack your items carefully into the box and remember to remove any excess packaging.

4. Check your checklist and tick off the items which you have put into your shoebox and note any that are not on the list.

5. Secure your ticked checklist to the outside of the box lid using sticky tape. Detach the donation envelope as instructed and place with your donation inside your box.

6.  Secure the lid with rubber bands and deliver your box to your local Begg Shoes collection point.

When it comes to filling your box this should be easy as you fill it with simple things that will bring happiness to someone in need this Christmas. When people have so little it’s easy to choose gifts for them. A pair of socks, a notepad, small toy, shampoo or bag sweets… Things many of us may take for granted will seem like luxuries to those living in poverty.

Please follow the instructions carefully as all boxes will be checked in order for them to be passed through custom regulations. Blythswood Care will add a Bible Storybook for children, a book for teenagers or a calendar with Bible verses for adults. It will then be sent to someone in need just in time for Christmas.  The shoeboxes are distributed to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Serbia & Ukraine.
