Begg Shoes opened its doors in Kirkwall in March 2013 on the site which was previously trading as DE Shoes, and St Olaf Stores before that. The company, now in the fifth generation of the Begg family, has been in the shoe trade for an impressive 150+ years, which is no mean feat. Offering a huge selection of men's, kids and women's shoes with free Click & Collect and Loyalty Rewards, Begg Shoes in Kirkwall is the destination for all your footwear needs.
We take pride in our customer service and will endeavour to assist you in your choice of product from our vast selection of footwear. From top brands such as Clarks for the little ones, Rieker for the ladies in the family or even Skechers for men.
All our staff are fully qualified to measure and fit children's shoes, thanks to initial training provided by Clarks Shoes and regular in-store training. We are members of the Children's Foot Health Register, and our manager Karen is a qualified professional shoe fitter through the Society of Shoe Fitters Association. Karen and her team offer a professional shoe-fitting service in-store. We believe that kids and adults should always wear correctly fitted footwear and pride ourselves in being able to offer our customers in Kirkwall a 5-star fitting service.

Travelling by car? We are easily accessible from nearby car parks and only a 3-minute walk from King Street Car Park. We are a 5-minute walk from the Great Western Road (North) Car Park.
Travelling by bus? We are a four-minute walk from the Travel Centre bus stop on West Castle Street for bus service numbers 2 and 9.
Accessibility - Our store has a level entrance with all shoes found on this level.
Situated in the heart of Kirkwall, along one of the main shopping areas at 26 Albert Street, we are only a 5-minute walk from Kirkwall Harbour or the Kirkwall Travel Centre.
We also have the privilege of being 5 minutes' walk away from one of Orkney's most visited tourist attractions, the spectacular St Magnus Cathedral. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in all our stores, so you can shop with your best friend! We ask that your dog is kept on a lead at all times when in-store.
