What is it like to work with Begg Shoes?

We have small teams that work very closely together, between our stores and the head office. Help and advice is always close to hand, either locally or over the phone, email and video. We use computers extensively day to day for a variety of tasks. With tips and tricks learned every day from those around you, everything makes sense after a week or two.

The Begg family are very much involved in the day to day running of the business and regularly work in and around the stores. Our business is a small and friendly place to be, but we are professional when it counts and we strive for the high standards our customers expect.

Expert Customer Service

Both in our stores and online we work from a foundation of good old fashioned customer service and product knowledge. With an average length of service in the stores of over 5 years, our teams have many years' experience and together they have built a fantastic reputation for quality product and expertise.

In a modern retail environment, new technology and new ideas are increasingly important and we move quickly to try new things as a business. There are great opportunities for a hugely rewarding career start in such a dynamic environment.

What sort of training is on offer?

Training is a big focus for us in every role and we offer extensive on the job as well as structured training. We have built an online training portal with a wide range of content to help build up knowledge in key areas. We have regular appraisals which are professional and insightful, designed to help you progress and offer recognition for your achievements along the way.

We are lucky to have great relationships with local experts in specialist areas, including Podiatrists, who visit our stores to offer a different perspective in key areas. Our managers are Qualified Shoe Fitters having completed professional training with the Society of Shoe Fitters, which is a leading trade body in our industry.

Every role in our business revolves around customer service in some way, whether directly customer facing or looking after all aspects of our fast growing ecommerce platform. While some of our skills are shared throughout the business, we also reach our for training as required on head office or other specialist roles.

    Location: Inverness

    Hours: Full Time

    We are recruiting for a new full time role in our Inverness, to commence following the re-opening of our store following lockdown restrictions.

    You will become a trusted expert in footwear, including specialist children's shoe fitting, and help us to offer a fantastic customer experience both in-store and for our online customers. Key duties typically include:

    1. Customer Service & Sales 

    2. Stock Handling 

    3. Merchandising & Displays 

    4. Website Sales & Admin 

    A successful applicant will benefit from specialist training as part of our well established and very friendly team. Experience may be gained from either or both of our Inverness stores, each with its own distinctive product range.
